Script Reading

This year's script was written by Chatham local Rose Ross. Entitled Tar Beach, this poignant coming-of-age story, set in the South Bronx in 1958, is of four teenagers who carry secrets that change their lives forever. The reading was directed by Wesley Brown.

Wesley Brown is the author of two published novels, Tragic Magic and Downtown Strutters. He has produced plays, Boogie Woogie and Booker T, Life During Wartime, and A Prophet Among Them, co-edited two multicultural anthologies, Imagining America (fiction), and Visions of America (essays), edited Teachers and Writers Guide to Frederick Douglass and wrote the narration for a segment of the PBS documentary W.E.B Dubois: A Biography in Four Voices. He recently retired from Rutgers University after teaching literature and creative writing for 26 yers.

Sunday Brunch with the Actors
Sunday, 10:00am-Noon

Visiting actors held a two-hour symposium on acting in film. As part of the session, they read passages from screenplays brought in by the audience. Moderated by Scott Cohen (Kissing Jessica Stein, Law and Order, Trial By Jury, Street Time). Students welcome.

High School Film Project
Sunday, 10:30am

The Chatham Film Club was proud to present two student films this year - the first was written and filmed by Columbia County high school students working together with filmmaker Wes Jones. The second film was by Austin Call.

Meet the Animators
Sunday, 4:30pm-6:00pm

This was your chance to mingle with the film industry's leading animators and participate in the Q&A session.
Location: Upstairs at the Peint O' Gwrw on Main Street.
